(20/20) We saw Saturn tonight....

Savannah hosted a Night under the Stars tonight...a local group came out with their awesome, high powered telescopes and allowed us to see the moon, up close and personal, as well as saturn. The teen club held a door prize drawing (funny, since we were outside there was no door) and I got to pick the winners. The kids played soccer and chased each other, I visited with my neighbors, Avery wore two glow-in-the-dark star stickers on her face....other than the mosquitoes it was a perfect night.

(19/20) Savannah Parade....

Avery and her girl gang decorated their bikes to ride in the Savannah Parade. They wore tiara's and carried fans....since it was H-O-T!!

The Savannah Parade includes things like Fire Trucks....

Cuties on bikes.....

People walking and pulling wagons full of kids....

The Boy Scouts......

People on bikes and stilts....

More people walking......

and that's it. It's small....definitely "home town" and we LOVE it!!!

(18/20) Inflatables.....

Anytime there is a party in Savannah, you can count on having inflatables...lots of huge inflatables. Now, for me, crawling through, up and around on plastic/rubber during the 105 degree heat doesn't sound like fun at all...but Weston was ready to go so I went along and did what any good mom does...watch and take pictures.

First, he scoped out the huge obstacle course one...where you had to crawl through a tunnel, over a wall, through some other things and out the back.....

Next there was the one where you entered through a tunnel, crawled over, under and around stuff...then exited by going down a big slide.

There was one shaped like a train for the younger kiddos.....

and a jousting pit for those who were feeling fiesty.

Weston's favorite was this one....he was strapped in using a velcro vest, and tied to the back with a huge rubber band/rope thing. He had to fight and pull his way as far as he could towards the front...trying to put a bean bag with velcro on in...as far as he could on the middle divider. He was challenged twice...and whooped both boys!!

Finally, he decided to go through the "Adrenaline Rush"....he climbed, jumped and slid...

and made it safely (although very sweaty) to the other side.

(17/20) Boing....boing.....

On Saturday, we had the annual Savannah Patriotic Celebration...they kids had a great time, we loved visiting with our friends from the "hood" and Weston had a great time on the trampoline/jumper thingee.....

This is my favorite picture...it looks like he's jumping over the clubhouse. Doug took these pictures and he did a fabulous job!!

(16/20) Football Camp....

On Thursday, Weston and I woke up early and headed to Ducanville for Terrell Owens Football Camp. The weather was perfect (102 degrees...ouch) for a day of running/throwing/tackling, etc.

The boys listened while the coaches talked to them about drills they would be doing, as well as encouraged them to try hard, listen to their parents and do their best. They did a great job of motivating the boys and getting them excited about camp.
All the coaches volunteered their time to help these boys...there were NFL players (past and present), college players, high school and college coaches..all spending two long days in 100 degree weather to help these boys. And, amazingly, every time I saw them they were laughing and joking around. When I stopped one man to thank him, he told me he had been doing this for 15 years, and it had blessed him more than we could ever know.

The first day, Weston was the only one (really, the only one) wearing denim shorts. On the second day, we stopped and got him some athletic shorts...much better.

Some of the awesome volunteers....

All the boys on the field for the last day. They worked hard and had an awesome time...we'll be back next year.
