Skateboard Camp.....

During Spring Break, Weston attended Skateboard camp at the local Natatorium/Skateboard park. He LOVED it....finally someone he could talk "skate" with who wasn't uncool like his Mom. The boys spent all morning learning tricks and mastering the ramps....and visiting the vending machine. I had to pull the plug on trips for an orange soda...sugar water, food coloring and a busy boy do not mix well.

We were blessed with great weather (luckily since the day after camp ended...Texas had a crazy snowstorm in late March....and we got 6 inches of snow)....Weston made some new friends, learned a few new tricks and overcame a huge obstacle that he'd been facing for quite some time now....stay tuned to find out what it was!!

Open House....

Avery's class was learning about the rainforest....the teachers did an amazing job decorating the hallways.

Each child drew for an animal to do a report on....Avery got the tapir. She wasn't to excited until she heard it was related to the horse!!

In her room was a box filled with props, each one representing facts about the rainforest....such as an umbrella because.....it rains in the rainforest.

A necklace with a card that says "40" representing the number of years until all the rainforests disappear....a very scary thought. Avery and a few friends are trying to raise money to save the rainforest...they come up with a plan, presented it to the principal and now will take it school-wide...good job girls.

Her desk....great job organizing sweet girl. Unfortunately I was in a PTA meeting while Doug toured Weston's room.....was his desk this neat....you guess????

A reminder....

During Avery's soccer practice, it started raining. While this didn't slow down the kids or the coaches, the mom's watching really didn't enjoy getting wet :( While we were waiting for the kids to finish, a sweet friend shared a prayer request with me concerning her son and a specific medical issue he was facing. As a mom, it's so very scary to face the unknown with our children, especially regarding their health. This could have been major....life-changing...life threatening. I was scared for her....how easily their lives could change in minutes. After the rain, we saw this...a rainbow....a reminder of God's love for us. A few days later I talked to my friend and the results are great....not what they had feared and hopefully an easy fix. Seeing these pictures reminded me to be thankful....for my friend....her son....and the many, many blessings I have in my life.
