(20/20) My favorite picture of the entire reunion....

All the first cousins, second cousins, cousins twice-removed, kissin' cousins, etc....watching a wave roll in while looking out over Lake Erie. I think I'm going to have this one put on canvas (after a little photo shop madness from Doug) and hung in my kitchen...that's how much I love it. All the kids that you see....their parents took baths together, naked....when they were little. While that thought grosses out the kids...it makes me happy that after all these years, we are still able to see each other....have an absolutely perfect time.....and now our kids are doing the same!!

(19/20) After the Nature Center....

....we headed to the lake. It was a short walk along a beautiful path. As much as I enjoyed the walk, I especially enjoyed who I was walking with...my husband and children, my brothers, my sister-in-law and my niece....my cousins and their children....my FAMILY!

Not long before my dad died, we went to Tennessee to his family reunion. It was set deep in the hills...also among beautiful trees and waterfalls. We hiked along a trail, my dad found a walking stick for himself...then one for the kids. Weston threw rocks into the trees....do did his Pa. This walk reminded me of that day, with my dad....a day I am ever so grateful I had.

(18/20) Summer time means...............

Ice Cream!!!

(17/20) The Nature Center....

Heading over to the Nature Center....
Within walking distance to our pavilion was a Nature Center, filled with a variety of animals and insects (shudder) including a fabulous outside area complete with a pond and everything from vultures to bunnies. It was a great break in the day to head over there and check things out.

There was a huge hive of bees that we could watch through clear plastic....bees make Weston VERY nervous, so he stuck close to Doug....

There were birds...including a very scary vulture....

The girls loved the rabbits....but then again, they love all things cute and fluffy!!

There was a beautiful water area to play on....

and trails and paths to explore.

Aunt Laura and Aunt Jenny were definitely the hostesses with the mostesses!!! We had a wonderful time, the park was the perfect location for our reunion!!

These 2 were two peas in a pod...or possibly two cousins in a log!!

(15/20) The reunion...part three......

I shot these pictures of Avery and her second cousin while they were walking to the nature center near the pavilion we rented. The area was gorgeous....the trees were gorgeous...the green-ness was gorgeous....the weather was gorgeous....and the two pumpkins walking together through the green trees....gorgeous!!!

(14/20) The Reunion...part 2.....

Our reunion started in a gorgeous park...full of the kinds of trees you don't see in Texas. The weather was perfect....in the 70's..something else you don't see in Texas.

We visited with uncles and cousins.......

played frisbee......

Aunt Pepe cooked hotdogs and hamburgers....

and the kids ate...and ate...and ate!!

Avery became fast friends with her second cousin Carly...and they spent their time digging in the dirt and making holes in the nearby baseball field.

The uncles played with the kids.....

while Weston....who was representing the boys all by himself....enjoyed some football with his dad.

The girls watched....and snacked....

and hung out together....giggling at the boys. Soon, it was time to gather the troops and walk to the nearby nature center.....
