(19/20) What the men play when the girls are away...

Weston insists on wearing a baseball cap and dark sunglasses before he plays...think he's been watching to much World Championship of Poker on TV??

Crazy boys...notice the beer bottle, Chulula (hot) sauce and ranch dressing (for pizza) on the table...that's man food baby!!

(18/20) Miss Brittney.....

At Miss Merry's, Kristen was kind enough to let the girls ride Miss Brittney...her new horse. Avery met Kristen when taking lessons and Kristen has always allowed Avery to help her saddle, brush the horses, etc. She took several years of lessons and is now the proud new owner of this sweet little mare. Congratulations....and thanks for sharing.

(17/20) Playing in the woods....

After a dinner of nachos and Dr Pepper...the girls headed off into the woods to explore. The wonderful thing about going to Miss Merry's is that there is so much to do...a treehouse, woods and a pond (you have to cross a wooden bridge to get there), a donkey that shakes hands, several miniature horses...and a snack shack that serves dee-licious brownie sundaes!!!

Need I say more.....

(14/20) Kayaking...take II...

a

On kayak day, I decided to go to the pool about an hour before pick-up time to watch the kids. When I got there, Avery was sitting in a chair with a huge ice-pack on her face. She burst into tears when she saw me. The sweet lifeguards explained that she had gotten whacked in the face, on accident, and the boy who did it had already apologized. She had been about ready to head back into the water when she saw me the tears started again. I told the lifeguard "She's pretty tough...she has a brother" right before Avery bellowed...."Weston hit me with the paddle". The lifeguards hadn't realized that he was her brother :) Surprised....NOT!! It was an accident and she was okay and Weston was sorry and it really was an accident (sure....I had 2 brothers, I know how they operate) but everyone survived and kayak day was a huge success!!

(13/20) And....she's off....

First step to kayaking...choosing the color or your kayak (a very important step, I might add)
I think I've pushed pink on her for so long, she's going anti-pink and choosing
~shudder~ blue~shudder~.

Next, you carefully step in....

Settle yourself into you kayak.....

And your off and running!!!!Notice the kiddo at the right of the picture....the older teens helping the younger kids just jumped into their kayak and pushed off right into the water from the side of the pool!!

(12/20) Spring Break Swimming Camp....

Over Spring Break, the kids attended Swim Camp at the local Natatorium. They had a blast...snorkeling...kayaking and learning to play water polo. During the kayak lesson, they had to learn to tip the kayak over and escape underwater (~shudder~) as well as rescue someone who's in the water. The rescued person could either hold onto the back or the front of the kayak while the kids paddled them to shore. Weston actually qualified for swim team....he's still thinking about it but I'm keeping my fingers crossed he'll "go for it". I think it would be awesome excercise as well as a chance for him to really shine in an area he seems to be good at!! Check back for more spring break pics as well as Avery's kayak adventure!!

(11/20) Open House....

(10/20) A Sleep-over.....

Avery and her BFF K had a girlie-girl sleepover last week. These 2 sweet things are so precious...and so much fun to watch. They started by setting up a picnic for their American Girl Dolls....every party needs food...right.
They decorated the room by cutting out dozens of pink and lime hearts and taping them all over...the furniture, the gridwork that sadly sits in my dining room waiting to be taken to storage, the turtle tank...nothing was spared.

Avery, Sarah and Julie!

Time for bed...these crazy girls choose to camp out on the floor rather than sleep in Avery's nice comfy bed...silly girls. How cute are they with their American Girl dolls sleeping between them.

Goodnight Girls!!
