(6/20) Horse Show Recap....

Avery did fan-tab-ulous in her first horse show at Stoney Glen. She entered 2 divisions, each consisting of 4 classes...three over small jumps and one flat class. She rode PJ (aka Pajama Party) her favorite horse at the barn. We got there early to brush PJ...getting her all spiffy for the show. Avery wore her new pink polo shirt with matching pink gloves.

She closely watched the other girls in her class...with Bubba and Papa there for support.

Her first class was over poles...they must trot around the arena twice, going over a series of 4 poles 2-times each.

After the poles class, in which the girls ride individually, they all ride together "on the flat" and are judged on their riding skills at a walk and trot.
Then the girls must line up and wait for the judge to make his decision.

In her first division, Avery won 2-5ths, 1-4th and 1-6th.

Next was the "Over X's" division, which included 8 small jumps. Avery did great although PJ did give her a hard time in one of the classes. She even started cantering and went over one of the jumps...Avery's first time to ever canter over a jump. I was proud of the way she handled herself, not getting angry, frustrated or scared...and making PJ go back and do things the correct way.

When she was done, she watched her friends ride in their classes and took a much needed break.

In the "over X's" class, Avery won a third and 2-5ths. She was proud of herself and we were all very proud of her. Definitely brought back many memories for me!! Her trainer, Miss Heather, does such a wonderful job with the girls...we can't wait for the next show.
