Our sweet neighbor D-man offered to give Avery in-line skating lessons. At first, he was going to charge me $.50/hour....when he saw that Avery couldn't stand up by herself, let alone move wearing her sassy pink skates...the price went up to $3.00/hour.
After agreeing on a price, D-man carefully thought out his strategy for teaching Avery. Hmmmm...what to do with this student wearing pink skates???
Ah-ha....he came up with a brilliant plan. Have Avery hold the bike and use it for support while she skooted back and forth across the porch...perfecto!!
And....he wouldn't have to touch a (~shudder~) girl (~shudder~).
For some reason D-man seems a mite itchy in these pictures??
The plan worked perfectly for a time or two...then, according to D-man..."she gave up". She probably spotted a butterfly or a ladybug, or saw one of her girly friends heading up to the house. Sorry D-man...that's just how girls roll, my friend. So, he came to collect his $$$, but luckily for me was willing to accept a bag of cheetos in lieu of cash. My account is marked "paid in full" and Avery lives to skate another day.
