On Saturday, we celebrated Memorial Day with the opening of the pool in Savannah. There was a DJ, Bar-B-Q sandwiches served on the porch of the clubhouse, watermelon...and rain! We had a great time but had to pack up rather quickly due to dark clouds and rain showers.

The kids enjoyed swimming for about 2 hours while Doug and I sat and enjoyed visiting with neighbors (it's still a tad bit chilly for me to swim :)

The Boy Scouts posted the flag and introduced all service men/women who were celebrating with us that day. One man had served one tour in Iraq and was scheduled to go back on Tuesday. As always, I am truly blessed to be able to raise my children in a country where they are safe, have health-care, opportunity for education and can grow up to follow their dreams...whatever they may be.
