In Texas, we don't get alot of snow...but we do get ice. About 10 days before Christmas, we had a sleety rain and freezing temps...which added up to ice. Even though our steps were frozen and our streets were slippery, school was not cancelled (much to the kids frustration and my joy!!) The main area of the school district we are in is actually about 20 miles away from where we live and it wasn't bad there...so school is on!! Luckily, we don't have far to go...just a few blocks over...and as usual for Texas weather, the next day it was 70 degrees.
