(6/20) Reasons 8,479 and 8,498 that I love my kids....

I love my kids....love them because they are my kids but also because they are such different little people....different from me in ways, very much like me in others. Funny, silly, sassy...but definitely never boring. Here's why.....
Last night Weston wanted to have a nerf gun fight....kids vs. parents. He's so into nerf guns now...I'm so not. He loves 'em...I don't. Not my thing...but he's my kid so we all went upstairs, divided up the guns and the ammo....chose our bases and the war was on. I thought "Let's just get through this and get them into bed" At 10:00...I wasn't ready to stop. We laughed, shot each other in the face and in the hiney...and everywhere in between....we laughed and giggled and had a great time. Thank you Weston, for sharing the joy of nerf with your old mom!!

On the way to horse camp this morning Avery saw a tree that had been knocked down in the storm Wednesday night. I pointed it out and told her what happened. She said "I don't think it was the storm mom...I think it was the beaver" For some reason, my girl is sure there is a beaver (a really big one judging from the size and number of trees it gnawed down) running around Savannah. I agreed with her...it very well could have been a beaver. Love her imagination....love that she saw a half eaten nut on the ground and immediatly assumed it was a fairy (squirrel would never have entered her mind)....after all it was laying right next to a leaf that was curled up into the perfect shape for a fairy bed. That afternoon, she and her girlie friend built a house for the fairy...filled with plastic furniture, buttons and grass.

My kids...(sigh)...love them!!
